The third annual Freihofer's Junior 3k Run, presented by SportsSignup, is a 1.86-mile road race to promote an active, healthy lifestyle for youth girls and boys ages 9-13. This fun event takes place on a portion of the prestigious Freihofer's Run for Women's 5k course and begins at the Empire State Plaza in Downtown Albany at 11:15am on Saturday June 1, 2013. Registration for the 2013 Freihofer's Junior 3K Run is easy with SportsSignup’s 24/7 online system. The fee for each youth runner is $10. Adult chaperon runners are FREE. The Junior 3K Run is a professionally timed race and takes place on a closed course and is monitored by Albany Police Department to ensure participant safety. The Junior 3K Run course is on a portion of the Freihofer’s Run for Women 5K course: West on Madison Ave. into Washington Park then looping through the Park and returning to Madison Ave. The finish is located 100 yards east of the Madison Ave. overpass at the NY State Museum. |

*All registered youth runners must be wearing their official race number in order to participate and will receive a box of delicious Freihofer's chocolate chip cookies and a finishers medal. The first 500 youth runners that register will also receive a specially designed Jr. 3k Run T-shirt and runners hat. Watch the TV spot for the Freihofer's Junior 3k Run and Melodies Center.
KIDS HELPING KIDS.
The Junior 3k Run has the added benefit of "KidsHelpingKids" and for all youth runners who register, a $10 matching donation will be made by SportsSignup to the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center. All junior 3k Registrants that donate $25.00 or more to the Melodies Center will receive a complimentary black runners hat. |

3K TRAINING PROGRAM - NEW THIS YEAR
To further prove our dedication to the Junior 3K Run, we will be offering a 10 week training program aimed at getting kids off their gaming chairs and into their running shoes.
