On Saturday, June 5, 2010, Team SportsSignup (shown L-R: Jodi Murphy, director of marketing, and Jessica Kane, account executive) ran in the 32nd Freihofer’s Run For Women 5K, featuring 3,927 women running through the streets of the New York’s capital city. SportsSignup was a proud sponsor and registration provider for the event, you can read the related press release here.

The race produced a stunning victory for Kenya’s Emily Chebet, made all the more so by her new course record of 15:12 (that’s just under 5 minute miles to get a sense just how fast that is). Chebet’s new figures bettered the previous best time set by Morocco’s Asmae Leghzaoui at 15:18 in 2005. The six second improvement was the largest in the history of the Freihofer’s 5K.

“It was fantastic to not only participate in this great race, but to see so many mother-daughter teams and other groups running for their cause or in honor of a loved one,” said Jodi Murphy, director of marketing at SportsSignup. “Also, it was awesome to know that the thousands of participants completed their registration through the SportsSignup system, and we were part of their overall race experience” continued Murphy.
